After stylist Arkadiusz Swieton’s first story for ACHTUNG, (A coat is a cape is a skirt is a sleeve) this story feels like a natural follow-up, entering men’s wear territory with his approach of mixing mismatched pieces to create cohesive ensembles and, most importantly, bringing the runway into everyday life. Keeping editorially interesting elements such as a tiara worn as intended or using that same tiara to hold together a pair of red bottoms are the details that linger on one’s mind and are what make editorials, well, editorials. Working together with photographer Frauke Joana on this men’s fashion editorial set between living room walls and the street plays right into our hands, as we at ACHTUNG follow a self-imposed, unwritten rule of abstaining from studio editorials. After all, fashion happens on the street, not within four white walls. And this story does just that: starting with a Dior look, the first ever runway look Jonathan Anderson presented for Dior; bringing a sweater from Michael Rider’s first Celine show into a Berlin living room, or even making a pinstriped Boss jacket interesting by pairing it with a floral Acne Studios skirt-leggings combo.
