Ok so Ottolinger is back in Paris. After their hometown stint during Berlin Fashion Week this July, the Swiss duo are defending their spot on the Paris calendar yet again with a collection celebrating friendship – female friendship that is. The garments are meant to explore how women support and uplift each other – becoming visible in reworked wedding dresses liberated from any traditional connotation, silks that have been put through the wringer in true Ottolinger fashion and the strategic placement of neoprene: also a staple for the brand by now. Wilson walking the catwalk was a great choice in casting and the teased Mammut collaboration very intriguing. Their biggest achievement – and that goes for any designer – is having a recognizable look. Ottolinger has managed exactly that. A modest bumster pant, always tight and extending leg length, shrunken jackets or clinging dresses with their elaborate décolleté framing and dangling fabric ropes this time with lots of black leather looks. They keep slowly evolving and no surprise Anne Imhof is a fan and sat front row.
