After going backstage in Milan at N°21 and Blumarine for ACHTUNG, photographer Sally Moore has landed in Paris to kick off the week at Burc Akyol’s S/S 2026 show.

Titled “Gülistan”, which is Persian for land of roses, designer Burc Akyol — with roots in France and Turkey — offered a personal, resistant showcase full of dance influences, floral notes, rebellion, sex, and cosmopolitanism. Having learned under John Galliano and, more recently, Esteban Cortázar, Akyol — since his Paris debut a couple of years ago — has been presenting emotionally charged collections built on the principle of circularity. Transcending seasonality and, as a result, foregoing (micro)trends has earned him a loyal fanbase. He has a heavy hand when using black in his collections, but the rust-brown taffeta and pops of blue and red have become somewhat of his trademark. Major flamenco influences — in the way some tops were knotted around the waist to create a floral motif, or how the sharply cut suit jackets at the beginning received the same waist-knotting treatment — made this collection a more playful one for the brand.
