Hidden and out of service in Sylt’s Hotel Roth am Strande’s basement are the remains of what once was the most iconic club in Germany in the 70s. Going down the staircase only lit up by a vintage neon sign reading “Test the West” you enter not a particularly spacious room, but one that still smells of nights that could rival Studio 54. Mirrors everywhere, pink plush carpeting and sofas, the ceiling decked out in purple fuzzy balls, cleverly spaced tables, and the bar/DJ booth as the altar-like center. This was the perfect setting for our ACHTUNG Nr. 45 “Neben Saison” storyline.
