Or using rumors as scoops. We love the idea of Miuccia Prada doing a one-off Chanel collection as she is the modern day Gabrielle. Riccardo Tisci will most likely stay out of a job unless Zara knocks on his door with a Stefano Pilati type arrangement. Oh yes, good for Stefano. A Steven Meisel campaign with Giselle and a big party in Paris. Looks like he is back and maybe bankable as a consultant in Milan to the biggest living designer in the world? Or Donatella changes her mind and brings Tisci on which would be genius. But then we hear anyway that her days are numbered and only the delayed Tapestry and Capri merger prevented the group from bringing in their new Versace designer. We keep hearing John Galliano is leaving Margiela for LVMH and considering Sidney Toledo is calling the shots again and the former Dior duo patched things up, this could work. He might just want to bring back his namesake label. Shalom. Sabato De Sarno is in danger now at Gucci if he has two more lackluster seasons. But then it’s kind of getting there and who else could do it? Marc Jacobs deserves a new job as well and if Galliano leaves, Renzo Rosso should probably call him. Or he simply promotes Glenn Martens from Diesel. We don’t think Virginie Viard nor Jeremy Scott will land a big gig soon while Hedi Slimane is either going back to photography or maybe he is doing a Sarah Burton and sits out his one year non-compete to then join the interlocking double C missing on his CV. We want the Ottolinger designers to land at a cool Parisian house like Balmain should Olivier Rousteing lose his staying power. And how about a fun idea – Montblanc enters the fashion category by hiring Grace Wales Bonner whose fine tailoring would be a perfect match to their hardware. And German CEO Axel Keller at Dries Van Noten has a not enviable job now since Haider Ackermann is at Tom Ford. Isn’t that weird? Well, the second you read this, these news are old.
