Let’s call it an exercise in fashion sculpture, as Rei Kawakubo might be the originator of the concept to get maximum runway show attention while her shop shelves are filled with much more accessible and commercial merchandise. Her heart logo is even featured on children’s sweatshirts. The trick is that the catwalk ideas pollinate the commercial offering, which is standard procedure for LVMH and Kering fashion houses. Apart from Williams, there were no major celebrities and the code of the house requires everyone to play it cool so no paparazzi mayhem ensued. Try to google Pharrell attending the CDG show and no results will probably show up. This show would perfectly fit into the Haute Couture calendar as well.
