Paris Men’s S/S 2026 Highlights Part 5

Craig Green makes a statement for creativity

The Paris season was opened with an overtly commercial nod to India by Louis Vuitton and closed with a fantastically creative show by Craig Green who singled out The Beatles and their hypercreative India period for the finale of his show with psychedelic floral print trousers and coats with long swooshing fringes. The show was full of concepts about uniformity, utility, and all kinds of design techniques like knitwear which only consisted of the V-neck as anchor and open yarns hanging from the V to mimic the rest of the garment.

Fringe V-neck illusions

This is all very typical for Green who is also a teacher at the fashion school in Vienna and you could feel in the show how he tests himself to go to new creative limits when executing an idea. He made his own Google-like glasses but no hi tech collab was in sight but just honest bricolage as the glasses were made by his team and the lights came from dollhouses. Or some outerwear was based on the pattern of dog coats to achieve a novel and unusual fit. Showing in Paris again for the first time in two years, this show was a reminder what a strong men’s wear voice this designer is. Working a show around the abstract concept of a band like The Beatles and mining fashion gold from it is no rare feat.

Deconstruction?

At the core of Green’s design language is the analysis of the making of a classic garment – like a trench coat, where he cut out the entire back and replaced it with shirting fabric.

Challenge the eye?

There are always straps of fabrics or long strings and laces protruding from a Green silhouette. This time he put blankets in the models’ mouth to mimic bed sheets that you happily chew on when you feel cozy and homey. Yes, really.

Color card?

Mining The Beatles drug imbibing years made for a zesty color card with all the sportswear in strong oranges and blues with stripes in primary colors like yellow and red.
