On a mission

Fashion inspired by the upheavals of our times

“Everyone on Earth should have a mission. Choose yours!” Thus is the slogan of Ukrainian designer Anton Belinskiy for his F/W 2020 menswear collection entitled “33”. The fashion with the greatest power is the one that is inspired by the upheavals of our times. No wonder that the Ukrainian designer Anton Belinskiy is being noticed, after all he comes from the most talked about country in the world at the moment. His latest menswear collection is dedicated to the number “33” which has a special meaning for him – standing for new beginnings and radical change. Living in war torn Kiev, Belinskiy is of course hoping for peace so no wonder his collections are political and personal.

Gigot sleeves and flared trousers: Some of the looks are like a look back to a mystical time.

How personal? Watch his 33 male models walking through a forest clearing to the dull sounds of deep house vaguely reminiscent of the sound of distant bombing. Belinskiy chose a peaceful place for his monk-like uniforms of knitwear with “New Jerusalem” slogans printed on black sweatshirts clearly wishing for the integration of Ukrainian and Russian interests.

“New Jerusalem”: Belinskiy does not hide the political references of his fashion but prints them on shirts.
