Milan S/S 2026 Highlights Part 5

Dolce is somewhere between the bedroom and the sidewalk

For 40 years now, Dolce & Gabbana have managed time and again to catapult their fashion house to the top of the collective fashion consciousness. It’s such a massive cliché to place runway boss Miranda Priestly directly opposite the “real” Anna Wintour — all for the filming of the second part of The Devil Wears Prada, of course. But that’s exactly the kind of thing that spreads across the internet like wildfire within seconds. And then there are the clothes that stay strong on their own, without any viral bells and whistles. As with the men’s collection in June, the women’s collection remained similarly bedroom-ready. In true D&G fashion, naturally: glitter, rhinestones, and sparkly stones. Hardly a sleepy affair.

Bedroom meets High Street

D&G is always good for a viral moment

On the one hand, they’re catering to the younger generation that has made it their mission to make the “just rolled out of bed” look socially acceptable for everyday wear; on the other hand, they’re appealing to a generation that still appreciates the value of a good pajama set. Paired with razor-sharp suit jackets, stilettos, or leopard coats, the existing clientele is also well taken care of. The cotton sets work especially well under leather jackets and vests — perhaps it’s because of our hometown Berlin. That’s where you’re most likely to see a look like this out on the streets.

…but our favorite: leather

At the end of the collection — which at D&G usually means the lavish eveningwear segment — they added another ten sheer chiffon looks with a negligee feel, all in black. Striped cotton doesn’t work everywhere, after all, and both devils would surely sign off on that.
