Milan Men’s S/S 2027 additional highlights

Italy doing Italy, and London bringing some freshness

Brioni

Without a creative director at the helm, Brioni’s design teams are opening up their ateliers allowing customers to have a greater say in their bespoke tailoring orders. With what they call Brioni Maestria, the brand offers a new ultra personalized line where clients get to customize their jackets down to the preferred buttons and linings. For the more easily pleased customers, Brioni’s S/S 2027 men’s wear collection drew its inspiration from the eternal beauty of Rome, which became apparent in the way colors flowed from look to look. We imagine having a passeggiata through the Italian capital over beige travertine tiles, like the double-breasted suit, passing Trevi fountain and it‘s turquoise water lending its color to a simple trench coat, before ending beneath a midnight-blue sky, reflected in a roomy jacket adorned with gold buttons.

Saul Nash

We’ve been watching this London brand steadily carving out it’s niche in the global fashion ongoings attracting the attention of giant companies like Lululemon which taps him regularly for projects. Nash’s understanding of men’s wear outside of societal and sartorial norms is helping athleisure find somewhat of a recoding. A wave we ourselves have certainly been riding for the last 20 years with our SEPP football fashion magazine for which we put German national player Jonathan Tah in a total Saul Nash look for this year’s issue. For Nash, this season started by looking at sports figures and male pin-ups. It goes without saying that his S/S 2027 collection was super sexy, super tight and super transparent. A wrestling singlet was abstracted into prints, used as a guide for the seamlines or worn as a base layer tying the entire collection together.

Tod’s

What Tod’s does best is real clothes. As funny as it sounds, fashion weeks create room for experiments and the most out there concepts, so entering Villa Necchi for Tod’s Men’s S/S 2027 presentation, we were happy to look at the brand’s latest projects. One focus was the Red Dot sneaker with its light weight, distinguished red dot on the back of the sole and elastic lacing. Amongst the ready-to-wear collection, Tod’s pashmy project is the real highlight with the pashmina fabric being turned into bombers, jackets, or shirts in – yet again – colors inspired by the Mediterranean.

Etro

Another creative-director-less brand at the moment, Etro took over the train hall of Milan’s science and technology museum, turning the space into an unclear state of departure and arrival. They even called the collection an extraordinary journey. Somewhere between Milan and India, Etro Men’s S/S2027 will be, as expected, Paisley-heavy as seen in the silky double-faced duster coats or the plethora of Arnica-motif luggage. The laser-cut shirt-jacket hybrids, a garment in any traveler’s interest, were cool and added some variety in texture in an otherwise restrained collection.
