Milan Men’s S/S 2026 Highlights Part 2

Fashion without a statement

“This collection has come together the easiest since we have been working together”, quipped Raf Simons after a very strong Prada Uomo S/S 2026 show. It was curious, there was no major fashion statement as usual, no hidden message or subliminal tricks. The show space simply bare without multi floor scaffolding with a few black and white shaggy carpets, the music a very Brian Eno like soundscape and the clothes a clever line up of very commercial clobber centered around cigarette pants worn with coats or beaten up leather jackets and a nod to MiuMiu with ultra-short swimming trunks who were often a continuation of the top as in a Safari jacket which had the pockets applied on the shorts. There were more cigarettes in training pants, also coupled with skinny coats and tunics which made for the skinny silhouette preferred by Mr. Simons. This also telegraphed a youthful spirit as only very young men can pull off these clothes. It was a cool mix of tailoring, athletic, sports and casualwear which only in the hands of this house can make for a good show.” When you are a big fashion house like Prada where everything is dissected and interpreted, we wanted to make a collection that did not have a certain stamp.” explained Simons further.

The new pieces?

The multi pocket army shirts elongated to tunic lengths and the boatneck sweaters with front pockets which the models all used to enhance their casual stance. The Prada kookiness came from plastic straw hats.

In technicolor?

Simons loves primary colors and his greens, yellows, blues and reds flash so prominently in the collections now that they have become Prada signatures.
