Zegna S/S 2025

The men’s tailored business is heating up again as the Covid pandemic created serious problems for a lot of companies who deal in suiting as men preferred to wear their sweatpants and T-shirts. The fashion pendulum has swung back to suits while the streetwear craze is declared over. Fine tailoring, craftsmanship and quality are back even amongst Generation Z. But Zegna under Alessandro Sartori is many steps ahead as he used the last few years of his tenure to draw up a new game plan for the men’s wear heavyweight. Zegna is now an eco-conscious, design driven brand which scales new heights by delivering an entirely new construction and adaptability for suits and outerwear. Cashmere and alpaca, merino wool, and linen, Zegna has the development of new textiles in its DNA, but the creation of new shapes and desirable items is what makes fashion tick and Sartori has achieved this. Zegna is now a fashion brand with a new audience which manages to still serve its old client with classic pieces. This is what really matters and his lineup of soft pastels and sand colors in mostly sturdy linens was terrific. He harnessed his classic boxy tailoring with maxi pockets and conjured up a young and more body conscious silhouette with lots of cut and pattern tricks with a standout high waisted pant with low pockets. This was probably Sartori’s best show with an incredibly cool and age diverse casting high lit by campaign face and cool dude Mads Mikkelsen who closed the show.

The construction?
There was a perfect balance between a uniform and work wear inspired look in sturdy denims and tough linens for edge and super soft suede blazers and soft shoulder suiting often with new lower pockets.
