Carmen Maiwald: You are often involved in exhibitions, also with your creations, what makes you happier to see your fashion in a museum, on the catwalk or on the street?
Fabio Quaranta: When you see your effort inside a museum or a gallery or when you see finally your work of a season all together is always nice, but when you see someone wearing ‘your’ item, you feel that you have fulfilled the purpose of the design.
CM: How do you create timeless fashion that is still desirable?
FQ: I think that beauty comes from different aspects including feeling comfortable in the clothes we wear. And this is beyond fashions and time.
CM: Why are some of your pictures on Instagram upside down?
FQ: It is both my personal account and the one of the brand but also a space where I show my references and the finished work that comes from that. You decide which side to be on.
CM: All the pictures you post upside down you leave uncommented, there is no caption, no explanation, what does the upside down stand for?
FQ: They are just food for the mind. You can associate them with what you want.
