Kansai on my mind

Asian influences with coloring from wasted plastic

pants GUCCI, shoes BALENCIAGA.

The Japanese costume master Kansai Yamamoto seems to be on stylist Mirjana Hecht and photographer Philipp Romer’s mind when they concocted a dream scenario with their editorial “Plexi Couture” which is weaving Asian influences with coloring from wasted plastic.

In their own words:

“We want to show the beauty of plastic and its innovative side. The set was built from Plexiglas although we didn’t really show it. There is the positive aspect of it, that it can make things more interesting/nicer (in this case for example the light), the negative aspect is, that it is everywhere we don’t even see it like in our bodies.”
