Mytheresa started the year with a spectacular NYSE debut. In the highly competitive world of luxury etailing, the Munich based company made its biggest dream come true and now has the financial resources to take the next steps. It is a cold hearted, predatory competition for scale, size and resources in the luxury world. The overnight chill factor which came upon Net-a-Porter – the once feted darling of e commerce – proves that the digital world requires impeccable timing, offering and the best service to stay ahead. Mytheresa has recently introduced men’s wear and is growing massively in the segment. The public listing will enable the company to expand its offerings and services even more including personal shoppers in New York.

With the help of our editorial team, Mytheresa is also publishing The Album, an irreverent magazine take on the lives of their customers. Lavish portfolios celebrating individual women and the real lives they live versus staged photo shoots are at the backbone. To start the spring season appropriately, Mytheresa commissioned a dream book with uplifting essays, poetry and visits to trailblazers in the industry like Alessandro Sartori of Zegna to share their personal dreams. The fifth volume of The Album comes in the new form of a coffee table book at select newsstands.

At Achtung we have always believed in the category food fashion and even publish our own magazine Achtung Appetit on an irregular basis. Hence, the absolute highlight of The Album Nr. 5 is the feature on Pascal Barbot, the youngest Michelin three star chef in the world at age 29 back in 2001 who interpreted recipes from some of Mytheresa’s closest designer friends including Gabriela Hearst or Lucie and Luke Meier. After all the pandemic has made cooking at home one of the biggest lifestyle trends of 2021. Celebrating gourmet couture takes the whole idea to a new level. And maybe soon a new category offering for the company?
