Etiquette Ecstasy

When wine meets fashion

Our founding fashion director Katharina Baresel-Bofinger has quietly changed roles over the past few years. She changed Paris – from where she expertly styled and edited most of Achtung’s early fashion shoots – for Schozach near Stuttgart to join her husband Count Kilian Sturmfeder-Bentzel to bring her style and flair into the world of wine making. Sturmfeder-Bentzel is one of the oldest vineyards in Germany and is celebrating 625 years.

Katharina still works with Achtung for special projects and has styled stories in last winter’s “Schneewittchen im Schwarzwald” issue and in 2019 the “Gute Nacht” issue where we had access to the Count’s ancient castle in Bavaria. On this occasion, Katharina met our photographer Michael Ullrich who not only lends his skills to us behind the camera but he is also an accomplished fine artist who does dramatic large panel color paintings.

On the occasion of the shoots in the Black Forest, Katharina, Kilian and Michael met again and immediately brainstormed what they could do together. The result is finally here. Original Ullrich etiquette designs for a special edition Sturmfeder-Bentzel red wine right in time for Christmas. We decided to show you the different suggestions Michael brought to the winemakers as well as the final result on the bottles.

Not only do the bottles look cool, the wine inside is even better as Kilian believes in the mantra of great winemakers worldwide: “The origin is the vineyard, in which one looks for the treasures which are raised at the right time of harvest with all effort.”
