Du Creux des Reins

The French have a saying for everything

From the Hollow of Your Back takes its title from the French du creux des reins — a phrase that locates emotion somewhere physical, before language can stabilize it. This was the starting point for the ACHTUNG premiere of stylist Ayrton and photographer Adam Delatour. Borrowing loosely from Milan Kundera’s novel on the tension between weight and lightness, Ayrton’s styling happens on model Marta’s body which appears effortless in the way she slouches on couches, corners or even Parisian rooftops. References come from films where exhaustion has already settled into the image, leaving behind solely color, posture, and atmosphere. Something the French would describe with the saying du creux des reins. What remains is instinct, surface, and only the architecture of feeling. And of course some top looks by Valentino, Hermès, Prada or Celine.
