Dérive describes a spontaneous drift through urban space guided by instinct. Borrowing from Situationist theory, the project rejects linear movement and prescribed meaning. The scenery shifts between inside and outside as the model wanders through Berlin in looks by Celine, Maison Margiela and Louis Vuitton, adapting to the geometry of the surrounding spaces. Somewhat its own genre nowadays in fashion photography, and certainly a genre that photographer Ryan Molnar is experienced in as his first ACHTUNG series shot at Berlin’s Trudelturm proved two years ago. In this new story he got together with stylist Giorgia Goffi to further explore how fashion interacts with architecture and accidental forms, rather than separating clothing from its environment.
