Paris Women’s F/W 2026 Highlights Part 10

Mixed Miu Miu Message

What would Miu Miu look like if it showed in New York at the beginning of the season like it did in the 90’s? We certainly can’t answer, but are fully convinced a whole lot different as the modus operandi since 2006 is to show at the very season finale in Paris after the four-city marathon of shows. By doing so and after showing her Prada collection, Miuccia generally conceives a line up which negates all the emerging trends thus far to counter them with her very own. Most of the clothes are manufactured only a few days before the show to have that fashion freshness: a privilege only afforded to those with their own factories. So, for Miu Miu F/W 2026, there were barely any black clothes, no long and lean shapes, no exaggerated body-con pieces, no explicit visitation of a past period – or worse – a TV show. It’s not easy to describe this latest showing but we would sum it up as offbeat, underwhelming, irritating and then definitely very cool and convincing. New trends galore like 90’s nylon dressing, beaten up leather ensembles, bucket heads and kind of ugly sneakers. The men’s looked predictable in its Eastern European Olympic team look but had a standout in a chocolate brown teddy coat.

What felt new?

This show really pushed hard on skinny pants and while looking utilitarian in the nylon section, there was a series of bejeweled, see through tanks with the cigarette pants that had the old whimsical Miu-Miu-ness.

The secret sauce?

Needless to say, the Miu Miu casting is a dessert for fashion insiders who saw starlet May Anderson, actresses Chloë Sevigny and Gillian Anderson or not seen in a while Gemma Ward and many we failed to recognize but listed on the press notes.
