ACHTUNG: How did you get to Berlin?
Yana: I left Ukraine through Uzhhorod, a small town which was refuge for tens of thousands of people who have fled. From there I took a train to Budapest and then to Berlin.
ACHTUNG: Why Berlin?
Yana: There are a lot of modeling and DJ jobs here. And a large Ukrainian community.
ACHTUNG: What did you do in Ukraine? What are you doing now?
Yana: I was working as a DJ, model and fashion influencer. Now I am doing the same, just within Europe.
ACHTUNG: Where do you go to find hope?
Yana: I am inspired by people, my loved ones, new ones and their lives, stories and kind hearts. And by faith, the faith in myself, in others… it gives me hope.

ACHTUNG: What smell has home?
Yana: Right now, I remember the summer smell of Kyiv, linden blossom.
ACHTUNG: The smell of Berlin?
Yana: Berlin has the same smell these days.
ACHTUNG: What do we still not understand about Ukrainians?
Yana: Our sincerity and braveness. And our sense of humor.
ACHTUNG: Your favorite word in Ukrainian and what does it mean?
Yana: Квiточка. It means flower.
ACHTUNG: Your wish for the future?
Yana: I only have one wish for all of us: I really want the war to end so that my mother can return to her home which is not occupied by the Russians.
