The Row debuts in London

The Row opens first brick and mortar location outside the US

Slowly but surely the label The Row has become one of New York’s key fashion leaders within its 13 years of existence. 2019 marks a new step forward for the brand by opening its first international retail location in Mayfair, London. The Row’s founders and enduring creative directors Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen did not select London as their first step into offline markets outside America at random. 15 Carlos Place, where it is located, is only ten minutes walk away from Savile Row, London’s most famous street for men’s tailoring in the 19th century which served as inspiration for the American label’s name. It does not surprise neither the house officially launched its men’s line a year ago, something both designers were planning to do from the very beginning.

For the renovation and interior design, the Olsens collaborated with Annabelle Selldorf. The German architect and designer was chosen as a member of the National Academy of Design in 2012 and her company Selldorf Architects worked on major projects like the reconstruction of the Neue Galerie New York or the Hispanic Society Museum & Library in Upper Manhattan. Within the fashion industry she is also known for designing the Yves Saint Laurent store in Paris.

The first The Row brick and mortar store in Europe will offer similar pieces like the ones in Los Angeles and New York – furniture and décor from selected partners alongside the label’s newest collections and accessories. Also available will be the label’s men’s wear. The interior reflects simplicity and classiness that are also part of The Row’s clear DNA. “We are pleased to expand The Row’s retail footprint by offering an exceptional and unique client experience”, Ashley Olsen explained.
