Pritzi’s Personal Project

One of ACHTUNG MODE's favorite photographers Markus Pritzi grants us an exclusive look at his personal dialogue with analog photography

Recently relocated from Munich to Paris, one of our close collaborators in the print edition of Achtung Mode, Markus Pritzi is known as a successful fashion photographer in Germany. Having started out as a photography apprentice in Italy at a very young age, Markus first embraced digital photography but he has lately started working again with film and analog procedures to bring out more emotion in his images. His portraits of designer Alessandro dell’Acqua in our current issue are testament to that. As is common with every good photographer, the question of digital versus analog remains a constant obsession. Here is an exclusive preview for Achtung Online readers of a body of work Markus executed together with art director Will Matthews and model Albe Hamiti around Matthew’s house in the forest of Wetterrade in the north of Germany in 2012. The rawness of Albe’s nudity is perfectly juxtaposed with the beauty of the surrounding nature and forest. “This project helped me to stay curious, to discover unexpected dimensions through film and to reinvent my approach to photography” explains Pritzi. So enjoy this yet unpublished slide show which proves that film does it better.
