Another new entry in the men’s wear field: RIER
Andreas Steiner hails from Alto Adige where Loden is a staple and symbol for timelessness. For his new label RIER, he combines his Tyrolean heritage with his fashion forward training at Prada Men’s to create a wardrobe, which stands for gender equality and age diversity. Drawing heavily on Tyrolean suppliers like the Moessmer Tuchfabrik in Bruneck which is one of the few textile companies still manufacturing in fully integrated production, his line up of coats, blousons, pants and shirts stands out for the strong use of the color red and subtle details like color piping on the pants. The quality is sumptuous and a statement against fast fashion as Steiner only sources highest quality wools and works with family run businesses for the manufacturing. Steiner works from his studio in the Marais in Paris where he showed the collection during Paris Men’s Fashion Week. We share a few highlights from his lookbook, which he calls Tyrolean Punk.
