Iceberg S/S 2016
Zabriskie Point fashion statement
Federico Curradi at Iceberg is a brilliant knitwear designer and that’s exactly what this brand needs. This season he stuck to his home country for inspiration and chose Michelangelo Antonioni’s classic movie Zabriskie Point as inspiration which meant lots of muted, faded browns and sand colors. There were a several handmade linen sweaters which looked terrific and showed off the brand’s heritage. What’s good here, Currado is not aiming too high. And he smartly avoids any tailored nonsense but concentrates on just good basic sportswear and even the workers jackets turned out to be knitted as well. Staged on a huge ply of paperbacks in a storied palazzo, this was a witty take on Italian intellectualism and the local’s sense of dress down cool.
