Achtung Schönheit checks out Byredo
Achtung Digital will now also cover the beauty business. Our editor Lisa Arbellot-Repaire starts her column with a heady fragrance trip into Byredo’s new Night Veil collection
The outsider of the beauty world, the very talented Ben Gorham is bringing to us from his poetic musings, three of his most refined creations. Apart from making these scent wonders, Gorham now also moonlights as bag designer and he unveiled a collection of women’s handbags last Monday at Colette. Not bad at all.
For the three Night Veil perfumes, Gorham managed to capture the sillage of blooming flowers. Sillage is a term used to describe a scented trail left by the fragrance wearer. The predominant heads, Jasmine, Lily, and Rose are exposed in their most intimate essence at night. Only one drop on your skin will be enough to let flourish the tangibility of each flower a sensation which comes with nearly all of Byredo’s fragrance creations.
In detail there are:
Casablanca Lily – this fragance hails from the sleepy, white streets of Casablanca and the delicate bouquets of Marocco’s coastal city’s secrets gardens.
Midnight Candy – is the „gourmandise“ you have always dreamt to hold in your hands, the one you would take time for to savour each bite and wouldn’t let any of the sugar grains to not be licked on your fingers. Think of the most delightful “Peche Mignon“.
Reine de Nuit – is the richest of them. It brings you into one of those glowing lands where when the oppressiveness of the day lightens, the heat of the flowers’ perfumes take over.
And for the record, Midnight Candy is my favorite one.
